A day on the slopes at Hidden Valley

Yesterday was Leah's first day of downhill skiing and she LOVED it! We did a few runs on the bunny hill before she insisted on getting over to ride the chairlift and attempt bigger hills. A few times I would be following her down the hill and hear her scream "THIS IS AWESOME!" She was a great sport and didn't want to stop for lunch. A lunch of champions consisted of French fries and maltesers with a Brisk fruit punch, she was in heaven! I will upload videos later from the computer to show her graceful skiing :) it was hilarious watching her arms move as she flew down the hill. Thank goodness for helmets! She's a little speed demon. It totally reminded me of when Uncle Jeff was her age and flew around the hills like a maniac...without a helmet on!

Day 3 of a busy family day weekend!

Monday was definitely the coldest day of the weekend but with the sun shining again the girls and I went out to Hockey Opportunity Camp to visit with friends. Jeff creates a beautiful rink down on the lake, has a campfire burning to roast hot dogs and a terrific sliding hill groomed. The kids had a GREAT time! After a busy weekend we all were in bed and asleep before 8!
P.S. yes, Darryl is still around, unfortunately he had training all weekend! :(

Emma has discovered that she can stand on her tippy toes and reach the water with her toothbrush. Now, whenever the bathroom door is open she is in there standing on the stool grunting and pointing to the toothbrushes! Every time we pull her away she pitches a huge fit...she is strong willed and knows what she wants!

Day 2 of family day weekend

On Sunday afternoon Wendy, Kory and Avery came up to Sundridge to participate in the family day activities down at Lions Park. It was another chilly, windy day but the sun shining motivated us to stay out longer. Emma was a great sport in the backpack for the afternoon. The kids skated on the lake, slid down the snow mountain, met a giant beaver, and went on a hay ride around town behind a truck and played a couple of rounds of SNOW GOLF!
