Winterlude 2009

Last weekend we ventured over to Ottawa to celebrate Family Day weekend with Aunt Deb. The weather cooperated with us and gave us perfect days to travel and nice, sunny weather for skating on the canal.
It wasn't long after we arrived that Leah found Aunt Deb's bin of clothespin. She entertained herself for hours with those pins!
"Just one more clothespin."

Meeting up with Ellen and Erica on the canal was harder than we imagined. Since the canal didn't open until 1:00 on Saturday it was PACKED! Parking was a nightmare and walking through the crowds was even worse! At last we phoned eachother and talked our way to eachother.
"More! more!"
Leah loved having Daddy skate fast and push her. She kept asking for more!

"Okay, enough of me being stuck in my stroller. I want to help."

Daddy resting up for more skating with Leah.

Leah loved skating, but was more interested in watching her skates than actually using them. All she kept saying was "hockey, hockey, hockey"

Break time.
Daddy and Mommy's backs got sore from carrying Leah around on her skates.

"How am I suppose to skate when I can't see Mommy?"

Again...still fascinated by the skates!

It was all worth it once she had her first Beavertail. It was a quiet ride back to the car while she inhaled her Beavertail.

Leah looks like she had fun. One question: What is a beavertail? I have never heard of that.
